Vanaf 11 juli 2025 heeft het [Stedelijk](https://www.stedelijk.nl/en/exhibitions/karel-martens-en?ref=kekness.nl) een expositie over grafisch icoon Karel Martens. Althans, icoon gebruik ik nu heel gemakkelijk, maar dus nog nooit van de beste man gehoord. Ook erg. Maar zo gaan die dingen. En dat terwijl zijn werk ge-wel-dig is. Hallo [Volkskrant](https://www.volkskrant.nl/cultuur-media/martens-maakt-prints-die-zo-helder-zijn-dat-het-ontroert~b64e5acc/?ref=kekness.nl) en [New York Times](https://www.nytimes.com/2016/09/07/t-magazine/art/karel-martens-graphic-design-p.html?ref=kekness.nl). 

Verder dus oud-docent aan de ArtEZ Academie voor Art & Design in Arnhem en mede-oprichter van de masteropleiding Werkplaats Typografie. Kortom, koning van typografie, maar z'n letterpress monoprints zijn ook waanzinnig. Tussen 2014 en 2022 maakte 'ie er ook een boel en die zitten in [Small Prints](https://www.printedmatter.org/catalog/46443/?ref=kekness.nl). Dus die is onderweg naar: mij.
