In [1914](https://www.kekness.nl/tag/vintage/), net voordat de wereld vlam vatte, brachten twee Franse schilders – Charayron en Durand – een boekje uit dat voelt als een grafische snoepwinkel: [*Attributs* *au pochoir: Modèles d’enseignes et inscriptions*](https://gallica.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/btv1b105462077?ref=kekness.nl). Een catalogus vol sjabloonontwerpen voor gevelborden, gemaakt voor o.a. bakkers, apothekers, slagers en meer, die begrepen dat goede typografie klanten trekt.
