The idea is simple: you toss ‘em a letter, word or phrase and they will make it look beautiful with type. That’s what Phraseology is all about. Call it crowdsourced type art if you will. Equally fun for both creators and lovers of type art. So if you love typography and you’re a tad creative… go submit.
If you’re serious about providing your employees with a happy workspace: you got to have a slide. Just like LEGO and Ogilvy. Luckily for those working at the Ticketmaster’s London offices, they are serious about happy employees too.
Sometimes all it takes to make a great shot is well, erm, equipment. Preferably stripped to a car and just driving around. At least, that’s what Google has done for Street View and it turned out quite amazing sometimes. Enter: Streetviewphotographs.
The incredibyly talented Jenni Sparks was commissioned by Evermade to draw a map of San Francisco to showcase the city in all its glory. While flying in and out of the place she spent three months drawing this incredibly detailed map. It’s for sale at Evermade for £100. And don’t forget to check out the maps she has drawn for London, Berlin and New York too.
There was a time when everything polygon was awesome. Just like minimal and flat were (and secretly still are). But there’s something different about these polygon illustrations. They’re not only handmade, always extra kudos, but they’re presented in a great website too. Taking you down from the beach all the way down to the unseen depths: Underwater Life. Great job, Mordi Levi.
The 80’s and early 90’s were a great era for design. So great, 5Boro decided to issue eight decks inspired by VHS artworks. Not that I own any skateboard or know how to stand on it for a minute, but I got to hand it to 5Boro: I’m looking into it right now.
There’s good design and there’s great design. Design that beats porn any day. Single-handedly (pun intended). Say hello to the Låmpion Hybrid Vacuum Tube Amplifer. Its jaw-dropping design by Stefan Radev flawlessly blends different materials and turns these amplifiers into a masterpiece for the eye, too.
Sam is very much alive and wandering the streets of New York and San Francisco. Sam has been uploading some great shots on Flickr there and they all have this neat touch and feel to it. Although all shots are equally awesome, his ‘Through The Phone'-album is stunning.
LOOK AT EARTH
If there is one thing that néver gets tiring, it’s looking at pictures of Earth. Although this has been done many times before, capturing screenshots from Google Earth, Earthglance seems to know its way around the globe. All the way from impressive intersections in Osaka up to the green fields in Nicaragua: it réally never gets tiring.
These images are some great examples of Copo Design.'s work for SEGRA. They have developed a new visual identity and language for the company that would stay far, far away from that awful stock photos and give SEGRA a distinctive and unique identity. Mission: accomplished.
What happens if you put The Simpsons and Pieter Mondria(a)n together and you smash them on let’s say… a bottle of wine? Well, this. Now that is some awesome package design by Dmitry Patsukevich and Constantin Bolimond.

THIS WAS BRASIL
For those who’ve missed out on all the global madness: Brasil hosted the 2014 World Cup. With 32 countries giving their very best, the tournament was sheer eye candy. So much candy, it inspired Dipanjan Biswas to create some awesome illustrations on the highlights of this 20th World Cup.
From Pitbull’s pants that left the world in shock and awe via van Persie’s goal that made us #vanpersieing for weeks up to one of the tournament’s favorite player: James Rodríguez. Oh, and in the end Germany took home the World Cup. Scheiße.
Thibaud Poirier is a self taught photographer from France. Fascinated with architecture from a very young age, he started to explore it with his camera from November 2012. Lucky for us, because his images are stunning. From the cityscapes of Dubai to Paris’ landmark the Eiffel Tower: they’re all equally awesome.
